And its not that she spends too much money. She is actually quite frugal.

But she doesn't understand investing and interest.

Each of her kids has a shoebox in her closet where she puts money. It infuriates me. I have tried to explain to her how to put that money into investment accounts so they money would actually grow over time, but she refuses.

I don't get it.
