Probably Bifenthrin. That would be used to provide quick kill to active termites that you can see - breaks down quickly and not along residual life - but a good overall insecticide that has wide spread use around the home perimeter, lawn, etc. for a wide variety of insects. Sounds like they were giving you good advice on products to use.

It appears that prevention would be Termidor/Taurus and Bifenthrin or Bora care to exterminate the active termites present.
i have heard that the bait traps could actually lure termites to your home from another area and not recommended by some.
Any truth to this?
