Or for $200k I can buy my own Cessna 172 and have less of a chance of dying.

My biggest fear with this is idiots taking flight and interfering with aviation safety.

The only way "flying cars" work en masse is with all of them connected to an AI network that actually controls all of them. A small bump up is nothing really in cars but in air transportation it could easily cause multiple deaths.
