Exactly. Everyone who thinks this will open the door for schools that didn't get a chance before are going to be in for a rude awakening. A Georgia or a Bama for example that needed to suffer upsets in the regular season to keep out of the playoff will now be in. Good luck knocking them out again. The TCU near Cinderella run was most possible in the 4 team format. Now they would need to knock off multiple top teams in order to even get the honor to get the doors blown off of them by a Georgia

The best "chance" that a G5 school ever had was in the BCS era when they could potentially convince people that they belonged in the championship because they were the only undefeated team. A G5 school will never win 4 consecutive games vs top 12 ranked "P5" schools.

But now at least they'll get the chance to win a NC. It'll be a harder road than previously making the top 4, but the road will be open to more teams. That's the point.
