You can remove LSU from this list of teams with a pulse

It’s not like y’all are suddenly devoid of talent a year after winning the College World Series.

What in the hell is going on right now?

I haven’t watched any of y’all’s games, but when I check every Monday morning to see how different teams did in their weekend conference series, I’m stunned.

In short, just bad baseball by an inexperienced team.

To dive into it, though inexperienced as a team and gauntlet schedule, game 2 vs Florida and game 2 vs Vandy were lost due to collapses at the end by the catcher position. Game 2 against Arkansas was lost due to a routine ball going right under the shortstops glove in the 10th. If clean baseball is played, they’d sit at 6-9 right now in the SEC and not in a bad spot.

Other than that, the only bullpen arm who has been consistent is Herring, and his sole responsibility is typically to piggyback Holman. Starting wise, Jump has been okay, but threw maybe 15 innings in his college career prior to this season (TJ in 2023). I’d expect him to be really really good next year. Ackenhausen, Hurd, and Guidry were 3 confident and dependable arms down the stretch last year, but now they are all struggling mightily.
Hitting has actually improved in the last few weeks, just not with RISP
If hitting solo homers is a contest, LSU would be #1. Tommy White can still rake, Jared Jones has gotten more patient, and Freshmen Ashton Larson has emerged, but it’s likely too late for LSU. They’d have to go 10-5 over the next 15, which includes series vs A&M and @Alabama.
