True Story - when I woke up from my heart valve replacement surgery I had hiccups - maybe one every 10 seconds. They lasted for three days, even while sleeping. My heart surgeon said there were drugs they could give, but he was reluctant to give them so close to major surgery. Then they just stopped after three days.

Having my chest split open and wired back together, made nonstop hiccups hurt like hell.
