Last one I bought for myself was pretty easy. I found a price advertised online that I liked. Drove to the stealership and told them if I test drove the car and it didn't have any weird issues, I would gladly pay that price. They ended up selling me the car for a couple hundred less than that. Didn't even have to ask. I think they just get a lot of people acting difficult, because we have this culture of high-stakes negotiations that's built up around car purchasing, and when someone reasonable but non-stupid (e.g. I told them no on all the extended warranty options) walks in, they're actually less likely to get screwed.
