re: Why do dealers make car buying so difficult

This is why car dealership owners lobbied Louisiana senators to not allow manufacturers to sell directly to customers. Buying a Tesla is a breeze. You literally do it on the phone through their app. No price haggling, no one trying to get you to add this or that or look at this other car over here. And no, please don’t make this about EVs. That is NOT the point at all. I am only talking about the buying process.
