It was an awesome neighborhood and people would drive from an hour away to go look at the Christmas lights. It's just hard to imagine if your historical reference is 15-20 years or so.

We lived on the BLVD in Monticello from 77’ to 94’.

We had to have known each other.

Nah I'm talking about Monticello Blvd off Greenwell Springs. That used to be a Regions by the entrance. No clue if it still is, and it wasn't Regions back then but I think it was a bank. Left on Catalina and a few houses down.

Oh, ok. Gotcha. That's closer to my end then.

I think we tried to see if we could place each other a while back. You lived on the blvd if I remember correctly. Like 2 blocks away from me.

Me and sec13rowBBseat28 have already figured out that we have a few mutual friends. I'm sure we probably have met IRL.

I lived in Park Forest from 1994-2006. We moved out because my mom wanted to live in the Siegen/highland area and when we moved, friends of mine in the neighborhood told me people started to do door kick ins robbing houses while people were at work. My time there from 1994-2003 were fine but those last few years before we moved from 2004-2006 you could tell the kids were getting out of control fighting over Sherwood and Glen Oaks.

I noticed the neighborhood went white flight in the mid 90s shortly after we moved there lol but it was hard working people and everybody got along with everybody. The early 2000s you could see a trend to more hood behavior then what it was and what happened from what I noticed was people from Sherwood always moved in the neighborhood but you start having more people from Glen Oaks and Brookstown start moving in and I remember police always going to the Park Forest middle school for fights over where they came from was better then theirs. I also noticed a lot of people from New Orleans started moving in after Katrina happened. That was another reason my parents wanted to sell the house because the prices were going up at that time.

Also for fun fact, the former voice of the Tigers Jim Hawthorne lived in Park Forest and I still think he and his wife still live there. I remember they had to save him when their house flooded in 2016.

People didn’t start having their doors kicked in and robbed in broad daylight until after people from New Orleans moved in after Katrina….

I want to say his house was right there where the street goes out to Co Op if I’m not mistaken or in that area.

GreenrockTiger ruined my condo complex on O'Neal in 05. My wife and I had to bail to the suburbs. She was always asking me to give her 75% cash for her Fema card.

I think so…

I think we need to all get together. I recently meet a guy that also grew up in area and we talked for hours. I’m convinced we all know each other.

O’Neal Ln/Millerville area is another area that I can’t believe how much has changed from the 90s.
