Rises and drops in estrogen is typically what can cause mood fluctuation among other things. It’s also why perimenopause and menopause are rough emotionally and physically.

There are non-estrogen pills but they’re not as effective.

But that’s how it goes with medication sometimes. My trade off is when I wasn’t on BC, my endometriosis webbed between my abdominal wall and my bowel. And I was at risk for bowel obstruction.
