Not only is renunciation of your US citizenship unnecessary to achieve the desired outcome but you may want to peep Colon v Department of State.
And I have news for you--if you hate how your tax dollars are spent here, you are not going to love the way the Puerto Rican government spends what they do manage to collect from you.
