I'm sure third places are not quite as prominent as they used to be, but mostly I'm with you. They're there. The younger generations just don't go.

Bar I went to last night was packed to the gills. Just with older people who enjoy bars and not younger people who never got into them.

I definitely could see private clubs/country clubs on the decline. The place we go is absolutely BEGGING young people to join, to the point where I doubt you even need to be sponsored by a member anymore. Young people just aren't as interested in that stuff for fun, and even young professionals aren't as concerned with rubbing elbows outside of work hours.

I need a list of places to go around here. I just moved back and have no idea what is going on.

In the 90's and early 2000's we had bars in Jackson where it was filled with 20 and 30 somethings. Rodeos, The Dock, Fire, Millenium, and others. Actually had ladies nights on Wed or Thursday nights and girls planned around it .

No such thing anymore here. They might hang at Fondren Public and North Tavern and that's it . Nothing like it used to be. Three things I think ruined it. Covid, smoking bans, and damn phones and their apps.
