I was hoping in some of the games last year that we would attempt more. The other team was going to score no matter what, so just try to get the ball back.

Same! I said this every game after the halfway point of the season. How many drives did the defense stop last year? Not many at all, so what’s the difference if they score from their 25 yard line or ours?
At least give us the chance to maybe get the ball back. Not like our offense had much time to rest between drives anyway.
