Law just went into effect for 2022-23 school year - prior to that kindergarten was not required by law in Louisiana.

The previous statute stated that a child must be 6 before September 30th in order to attend 1st grade - it also allowed parents the right to wait until their child was 7 before starting 1st grade.

Dang Missed it!! See that Catholic High won the Recruiting Select League of High School baseball in Louisiana!! Wonder if they had any 19 year olds!!
