If you breed pure bred dogs, the AKC demands DNA testing in certain situations. After a sire produces, I think it is seven litters, it has to be DNA certified. If the stud is over 10 years old it must be DNA certified.
Too bad it isn't required for humans. Some of the geneticly transmitted diseases could be predicted or eliminated.
