Mentioning Avon remind me of one of the best jobs I had in high school. My buddy and I were paid to pick up boxes of Avon and distribute it to the "Avon Ladies" so they could fill their orders to their clients.
We would do McDonald's breakfast, head to the distribution center dock, get his old Silverado loaded to the hilt and we would strike out. This was early morning, and it would never fail that one or more of these women would answer the door still half naked, in skimpy PJS, or with a robe falling off of them. It was not uncommon for them to invite us in and offer us a coke or ice tea or snack....and yes, a couple times "Mrs. Robinson" tried to seduce us (at least that was our perception) - - but unlike the 15 yr old horn-dogs that are bouncing all over these 23 year old English teachers these days - - my buddy and I ran like scared rabbits.
