1. Define a natural-born citizen as someone born of at least biological one parent who was an American citizen at the time of the child's birth.
2. Amendment for annually balancing the budget, except in times of declared, active war on another nation. Wartime deficits must be repaid in full within 10 years of the end of that war.
3. Repeal of the Wickard v Filburn ruling, any attempt to use the Interstate Commerce Clause can be done only when a tangible, interstate impact can be proven (not just hypothesized).
4. Any federal official (whether elected, appointed or a federal employee) found of violating any Constitutional right is jailed for no less than 10 years and barred from any elected office or federal job for the rest of their life.
5. Term limits. No one may serve more than 12 total years in Congress.
6. English is the official language of the United States.
7. Revoke the 16th Amendment.
8. Revoke the 17th Amendment.

Revoke the 17th Amendment.
Help me better understand the reasoning behind this particular movement. Prior to the 17th Amendment Senators were selected by State Legislatures. State Legislatures are chosen by the people.
So why is the extra step between the people and the Senator at all necessary or desirable?
