I cooked a big pot of jambalaya one time to bring to one of my in-laws birthday party with about 30 guests.

A few days later I get a call from said in-law asking for my recipe since they liked it so much so I tell them to get a pen and paper and I gave it to them step by step.

When done, she chimed in "I think instead of using ingredients x and y, I'll substitute this and that for it and instead of cooking it in these stages I'll do it another way that I like more".

When she finally stopped running her pie hole I asked her why she called me for my recipe in the first place if she's not going to use it the way I cook it since, in her words----"That was some great jambalaya".


Some people just can't help themselves I guess.
