re: Why is CFB way more popular in the south than NFL?

I think it’s for 2 major reasons….
1. Family history… my dad’s family born in Louisiana grew up going to games for big events… special occasions. Grad present, gift from someone etc. Even though he moved to Mississippi, listening to games on WWL on Saturday nights was a family event. His dad also got tickets and drove down to see Maravich his favorite player.
2. College is more about connection… player from your hometown, having more diverse fan bases. Never wanted to go to church Sunday morning after losing to ole miss or state.
I watch and root for the saints but LSU will always have my heart. It’s just different.
