As the conflict in Korea began it's second year, the the war of fluid maneuver seen in 1950, had devolved into series of seesaw gains and setbacks along the 38th Parallel. This "don't win, but don't lose" philosophy came to characterize the ongoing and bloody stalemate between communist Chinese and UN Forces. A hero was fired for defiance. Punitive postwar restrictions on industry were lifted in West Germany. Promises of assistance to any country that opposed communism were solidified into US law--and a music phenomenon was born that would would come to play a major role in the ongoing culture war between the totalitarian east and the free west.

Enjoyable videos for certain but,

quote:

A hero was fired for defiance.

MacArthur was fired because he was about to start WWIII with a bunch of fireballs and mushroom clouds. His defiance is also called insubordination. He was a great general, but his time as essentially emperor of Japan during the occupation kinda went to his head.

Thanks for the reply. Your facts are correct. And they are covered in the video.
