Not even close. But that's with any music of the era. You HAD to have buy in on a group. You had to hear them for the first time on the radio, or see them on the Midnite Special. You needed a face-to-face conversation with friends to discuss their existence/greatness. You had to buy a magazine to learn details about them, and drive/get a ride to the record store to be able to listen to their music "on demand". And it cost ~$35 (adjusted for inflation) for that one album.
Now you can instantly listen to anything ever recorded on any media device you own for less than the cost of buying six albums a year. I'm not gonna lie, its a LOT easier today.
