my friends new Bergara 7PRC is pretty nice and real shooter, but good thing you handload, because shooting available Hornady ammo, every 3rd-4th shot was 1-1/2" off somewhere. Bergaras feel barrel-heavy to me, for Western hunting, weight is an issue, look at Tikka or a lightweight Vanguard.

you can shoot heavier and higher bc bullets.

Dont need them - 7 Rem Mags + 160 gr Partitions have been dropping animals DRT for 60 years. But that's boring. I handload and I get it. Most of my rifles are less-popular calibers because I like to tinker and improve things that aren't broken - that's what keeps me interested. Go fondle some hardware, see what you like.

It’s not just you, they put heavier than usual contours on most of their rifles. They do apparently have a couple now that are more sporter weight and are going carbon on some. I think with some of the more expensive bergaras you’re into custom territory with a prefit.
