Depends on the intended use. High velocity rounds can optimize a longer barrel. At the same time, it is a handgun, so that aspect of it, at a certain point, one would just be better off with a rifle.

Just sticking with revolvers, I would go 5". A 6" bbl on even a 44 is getting to be too much.

I like "full size" revolvers in 4" and 5" lengths, although if it was exclusively a hunting rig, I might see a 6" ( ).

I agree, what's the primary use and where?

I have and love shooting my 6" k frame S&W 357. It's nice to carry in the woods, and great to shoot.

If I ever had to draw it in a truck or other confined space, it would surely be awkward, and the long barrel might be an invitation for someone to grab/turn it.

A do-over? I might would go with 5" over 6".

I'm sure you'll enjoy either though.
