Argument could be made it was worst back in the day. Most of your criticism came from people in your everyday life.

How far back is “back in the day”? The athletes were pretty sheltered 30-50 years ago. They could get into trouble and nobody heard about it because campus police or BRPD covered it. I recall bar fights and nothing ever coming out. With that, the pressure on African American athletes was MUCH different in the 70’s.
