Norm had too much to say and wasn’t willing to play the game like Letterman did.

It’s clear Norm didn’t need Hollywood to love him the way Kimmel, Stern and the rest do.

MacDonald was a comedy god, but let's not pretend that he didn't play the Hollywood game when he had to. The guy went on The View, hat in hand, to apologize for minimizing the MeToo movement. Whether it was his career or wanting to be liked, he picked his battles just as Letterman did.
