I have ran over two in about 65 years of driving.
One was a German Shepard that was chasing his owner's truck. If he had staid behind the truck, he would have been safe. Unfortunately he tried to pass the truck and got into my lane.
The other was a Boston Terrier. He would come and chase me. I would lose sight once he got close to my car. This happened several times and I grew tired of stopping. I slowed down and then I heard a crunch.
