The guy in the OP was a top junior hockey player in Finland. Think he could handle getting hit a few times

Todd Kinchen was a regional finalist in tennis. He was offered a scholarship to Alabama for basketball.

Or maybe they're just better at tennis than football. An All-District WR at a high school from my hometown got a tennis scholarship to a P5 school that wouldn't have offered in football.
And it's been said Drew Brees could've been a tennis pro if he wanted to.
