Need more details. My next door neighbors had a tree fall on the house behind them. It was a 30' tall tree that fell during the big freeze a couple years go. Ended up being super heavy on the branches, snapped, and landed on one of the valleys of the neighbor's roof. From my understanding, the "victim" had my neighbors take care of it. They cut the tree all the way up to the property line/fence. Didn't remove the rest of the tree until way later on. The stump still existed for several months. I'm assuming this was done out of pocket and not filing a claim.

Victim roof looked fine. it almost fell perfectly into that roof valley. I'm guessing as long as there was no serious damage, they just wanted my neighbors to have the tree cut up and off their house.
