Correct - people will make fun of Gooch for speaking out, but he has a right to be frustrated.

The “top 50” players should be playing in majors & due to the current state of OWGR, it seems he’s one of the few that is getting left out.

It’s something that needs to be addressed eventually, but it will take bigger names than his to fix it. Or once the PGA/PIF merger finally gets done & everything fixes itself.

If Augusta National doesn't want to risk becoming a glorified PGA Tour signature event, with a few past champions and amateurs making up the field, they really need to look at this qualifying criteria.

It already has the weakest field of any major and it would be a shame if that slipped any further.
