I worked in sales for a few years and I'd rather live in a van down by the river before I ever got back into sales.
But that's a personal decision.
I've known people who were natural born salesmen, it wasn't even work to them. Like hiring a beagle to chase a rabbit.
To each his own. Find something you are good at, and go do that. If you are good at sales and persuasion, go do that.

My grandfather could sell ice to the Eskimos. I have a cousin who inherited his sales ability and is wildly successful. As for me, whenever we had school fundraisers I would pay for the crap out of my allowance so I wouldn't have to go around selling it.
