I just went through a license to carry class here in Houston and this stuff is all you talk about. Technically, this guy left himself open to charges. Should that be the case?....Absolutely not. Is it very possible?....Unfortunately yes. Pass by this area every workday. Witnessed shooting at 6 :30 am about 8 years ago around there. Not stopping for gas there without guns drawn.

But anything is possible. They let the Taqueria guy off. And that one was super pushing the line from a legal sketch stance. Perfectly okay to shoot. But if I recall, the last execution shot after the guy was down and clear, plus the leaving the scene made it an easy target for legal questioning. And they let that one go. So here's hoping.

Absolutely. Hey, if you want to take a chance of significant jail time by playing hero.....then more power to you. I truly hope it works out for the best. But the reasoning some in this thread have of "well he was probably going to do it again at some point" is not, has never been, and never will be justification of shooting someone.

There's definitely some cases from Texas that have gone either direction. But don't put your freedom into the hands of corrupt DA's and Judges.

i've stopped at the gas station many times because it is in the heart of my old sales territory. Had a couple of good customers ~ a block way.

It's one of the least hood gas stations in the area but that is low bar.
