yes.... thats exactly what happened... look at how life was 100 years ago....
we had the first car and building brick and steel buildings like the Empire state building.

200 years ago.....
the ICE engine was patented .... took 100 years for it to become something used in cars. Pirated on the high seas... people building log cabins.

300 years ago..
fur trading, indian wars, etc.....

on then go 550 years ago when Columbus "found america" really there wasnt much technological advances in those 550 years. basic life was comparable.


then go 1000 years ago, 2000 years ago...3000 years ago.... people have just been bumbling around for thousands of years.

So when a powerful civilization has a ton of people bumbling around and they worship 1 man.... he needs something for them to do... hey go move all these stones over here and spend your life hammering them into a smooth surface.
