My wife cannot tell you what she ate for lunch yesterday; but she can tell you who gave us what for our wedding, and for all of our kids birthdays & Christmas.

We kept a list to write thank you notes but we didn't stuff it in a drawer to remember years later who gave us a salt and pepper shaker.
