Except, this is not at all reflective of a jungle primary? Because there’s no incentive to “cross over” and vote for an opponent in the same race your candidate is running in.

You end up with a watered down version of both philosophies. A moron like our last guv can pass themselves off as sorta conservative, and pick up enough illiterate repubs in the primary to finish in the top 2. Whereas they might not even make the general if they have to get past the loonies in their own primary first

If Jon Bel was to run in our newly created 6th vs Cleo Fields, his chances are slim of getting to the general. Where he might actually win with indies, wine moms, and RINOs. So you end up with Cleo Fields vs a more conservative republican in the general
