Some of the donut shops around NOLA have video poker, sell beer, and sell little hamburgers and fries. It's great after going to the bar food.

I definitely partook in all of the above. Gerald’s on Judge Perez was my go to in Chalmette.

Can't believe no one's mentioned the ButterCrisp Donut Shop in Covington! People literally risk their lives pulling in/out they are so crazy busy!!

Lines @ the counter and 5-7 cars waiting in drive through. They recently reopened after closing to remodel, update. The entire Northshore was mutinous and area lumberjacks, Jeff parish yat transplants were in near revolution. Place has been open at least 40+ years. It is cra cra. McDonalds parking lot next door has more Donut customer's cars parked their than for Golden Arches.

People flying in on foot, bike, vehicle from all directions.....all risking life/limb for mainly Donuts, though the food is quite good also.

ButterCrisp in Covington is a frickin INSTITUTION. Stay tuned for Casualties & Death Count from Sugar Addicts jonesing, fighting to get in. I am DEAD SERIOUS!

Though on the NorthShore, where people are somewhat slightly more sane, it is still La & it feels/smacks like an old, typical...."only in New Orleans" type tradition & following.

And I am definitely "guilty" of partaking in the Do-Nots!
