nevermind that it's been remade numerous times, or at least the inspiration for a lot of similar themed movies.
In particular, I like The Family Man w/ Nic Cage version

Seems like a stupid idea. Only thing I will say is that the WMCJ remake wasn't that bad. I enjoyed it fine enough. But I also deeply love the original, so that's why I gave that one a shot.
They just can't be surprised when this one comes out and flops its arse off though. Because that's what will happen.

The Family Man is probably the best known remake, although it's more of a reimagining.
There was also a gender swapped TV movie version with Marlo Thomas that came out in 1977 called "It Happened One Christmas." It wasn't a bad movie and was very faithful to the original.
Mr. Potter, the antagonist in the original film, will no doubt be a white man who is oppressing the black Bailey family.
