Joever can't win running against Trump. It took a pandemic hoax, massive mail in schecheme to win by 100,000 votes spread out over several states.
He's been a disaster and most won't see Trump as a bad alternative. You got a direct comparison between the two.

What if he's convicted on Jan 6th insurrection-related crimes? All the undecideds/independents will steer clear of Trump then. And a conviction in the DC case is nearly a 100% surefire happening
