RV idea is really good, outside of that I might lean to staying in a few different places. When we did a week there a few years back, we stayed in
1. Cody, WY - 2 nights - East Yellowstone entrance
2. Garder, MT - 2 nights - North Yellowstone entrance
3. Jackson, WY - 2 nights - Teton and South Yellowstone entrance
Staying in the park is cool, but not required. Yellowstone park accommodations are hard to get and kinda overpriced for what you get.
Cody - Do the Rodeo and Chuckwagon combo

Gardner - Rafting https://www.flyingpigrafting.com/, hot springs (easier than Mammoth), Tom Miner Creek Rd. to see bears.
If I did it again, I would have spent more time in Grand Tetons. Yellowstone is awesome, but it is the Disney World of our National Parks. Teton is more of a nature experience.
