I actually really appreciated the books honesty about the brutality and duplicity of both sides. They maintained the noble savage part of their story while depicting the horrors of the Parker assault without pulling punches.

Did not read the book but there was nothing "noble" about the Comanche.
Burned men alive,gang raped women,infants and small children were summarily killed.
There wasn't a more brutal or sick tribe in the history of indigenous peoples.
