Caleb Williams still has buzz and that matters with NFL teams. The vast majority of NFL teams would pick him #1.
That's no guarantee that CW will be better than JD, but he's a heavy favorite to go #1 overall. If the Bears like JD more than CW, you'll see them trade back with a team picking CW and not taking JD #1 overall (as of today).

I’d also say the chances of Daniels going to Atlanta drastically decrease if they sign Belicheck.
