We’ve known for about a week now an arctic blast was coming. They should have taken the necessary precautions to prevent any issues. Now everyone gets an extra day off because a few people were lazy

Actually, DOTD has apparently gotten ready for the weather in that they have been salting the bridges overnight. I can't recall that ever happening in Louisiana.

The I-10 Basin Bridge is still closed due to sheets of ice.

I don't normally agree with most of these closings in advance, but with the ice storm last night, this one was probably a good idea.
