It apparently did about half the viewership of the Cowboys/Packers game (a bigger name match-up) and about 6 million less than Texans/Browns (a lower name match-up on the same network).
But hey, it got better viewership than last year's matchup of Chargers/Jaguars.
It may not have been suicide, but I don't think it's a giant boon. If it didn't drive new subscribers then I don't see how you can consider this a win for NBC.
