Many of them have cartoonish TV ads and billboards that are a disgrace to the profession but are protected by the first amendment, for better or worse.

I've posted on here a million times before that you have to put Louisiana auto accident litigation into a separate legal system, either subject to a review panel clearinghouse system like med mal, or into a separate tribunal system like workers' comp where there can be no runaway juries. If you do that, you would drastically reduce the amount of claims filed, especially the frivolous ones, and most of thee billboard lawyers will simply go away and have to find new jobs.
