There's no hard rule that you have to play 8.
I looked at some box scores from the playoffs last year and lots of teams played 9. Now granted, the 9th guy got less than 10 minutes but still played.
I think that 9th guy is Jose.
Hawkins and Naji are odd men out.

In a playoff game for this season, I’m putting Jose and Larry in before Hawk and Dyson. Jose can change a game from his energy and defense. And Larry, if nothing else has experience including finals experience. I would ideally want all 4 to play though.
