I'm not gonna put down Eddie Robinson or say he wasn't a great coach but winning on the biggest stage matters and Saban is the GOAT.

I will. Eddie Robinson did at at what is almost the JUCO level. Could he have done it at the Major College level? We will never know.

It's not fair that a black man like ER did not have the opportunity back then, but the world is rarely fair. People are born with all kinds of disadvantages that they bear in life - unattractiveness, stupidity, a birthplace like North Korea, genetic illnesses, etc.

Can we claim, for any of these people, that he would have been the GOAT if not for...?

There is a difference between disadvantages that can be overcome and those that can't. You wouldn't say a crippled kid didn't make it to the NBA because he didn't work hard enough would you?

Now like I said originally, you also wouldn't say the crippled kid is the GOAT even if he set records in the crippled Olympics in wheelchair basketball. But you shouldn't deny that the kid is great just because he didn't make the NBA.
