Food isn't that much more expensive, but drinking is for sure.

That aside, just in Manhattan alone you can find amazing food around almost every corner for under $15/meal. Starting with a bagel and lox in the morning, and ending the day with noodles from a storefront diner in Chinatown plus whatever you do in between is a phenomenal food day that can only be replicated in a few places on this planet.

And for $30-$40 entrees (a few bucks more than what you pay at Parrains BR these days and I love Parrains), you can eat one of the best meals of your life at hundreds of different restaurants just in Manhattan. The challenge with NYC is there are so many options it can be hard to make a decision.

I think it’s worth it. NYC is my favorite city to visit.

Love everything about it. Love the museums, love being able to eat literally any type of food you could possibly want, love Broadway shows, even love just the problem solving of which subways to take and how to navigate from place to place.

I’ve actually always found NYC hotels to be pretty affordable, at least in terms of “luxury hotels.”

And as people have said you can spend a fortune eating in NYC, but you can also eat really well for under $30. NYC does quick, casual and good dinning better than any city.

My only recommendation is go any time other than the summer. Summer NYC is hot, crowded and smells of urine and dumpsters.
