Jay Johnson was on the Hey Fightin' Podcast, LSU Sports' official podcast. He touched on a wide range of things. They use to post it to youtube but stopped for some reason.
Here is the Apple link but you can listen to the podcast wherever you like to listen to pods (Jay comes on around the 9 minute mark):

The biggest thing that jumped out to me was his discussion on the lineup and moving guys around to get the best bats out there every day. He said there may have been a bit of overcorrection in recruiting pitchers due to how thin the program was when he got here. He actually brought this up twice.

I can see why he would make that comment about the pitching vs position players.

Good problem to have…
Thanks for posting.

That's about the best possible problem to have.
When Jay Johnson screws up...he does it in a good way.

I'm sure he won't soon forget managing a weekend with Ma'Khail Hilliard, a wildly inconsistent Devon Fontenot, and then 45 (all numbers approximate) other guys who may or may not get outs to plaster around Gervase and Reyzelman. It was one of the best coaching jobs I've ever seen given the lack of bullets in the chamber.

It will be interesting to see how he handles the pitchers In-game. He will have a lot of match-up options. He is going to go through a lot of notepads before the weekend.
