I grew up in the upper midwest/great lakes region and live in the Midwest now. If you're not waiting until it's over you're wasting you time with powder snow. Wet snow absolutely clear as often as you want. That powder you blow is just going to go back to covering your concrete. The one exception would be first use of a new snow blower (just to check how you want to set the chute and direction). I ran mine near the backend of the first snow and then had to run it again a day later.

If you're living in a home you own and get frequent storms you need to ditch the shovels and get yourself a blower.
