Saint's Fans vote Jeff Faine into the pro bowl !!!!!!!!
Ok i do not care what anybodies opinion is about him and I could careless about hearing it either! He is a Buc now and he deserves our support.
This is why, in the mysterious world of compensation picks for the NFL draft there is a secret formula more guarded the KFC batter reciep. That Formula has been desifered to include these two key ingredents.
1) Players signing salary: This is a big factor in determining the pick. Faine is now the highest paid center in the NFL. That alone should get us at the very least 4th round pick even with the players we signed. Gay and McCray.
2) End of the year Awards: This is another key piece of the puzzle. Actually it is the second most important factor in determining the pick. So Pro Bowl is KEY
So this is where we as saints can do our part in getting the highest value we can for Faine. This is what we can help to control. A probowl ballet maybe the only thing keeping us from getting a third round pick for letting Jeff walk in FA in 2007.
So go vote often and remember Jeff Faine for pro bowl OC in the NFC!!!
for all the D.A.s out there.. ill put it in simpler terms:
Faine makes the probowl, Saints should get a 3rd round compensatory pick in the 2009 NFL draft...

wasn't he signed as a free agent by the Bucs, so how does this help out the Saints?

Is it working for you? I don't see a way to vote in IE or FF, but doing some googling suggests your link is correct.

There is no way we're gonna get a 3rd for him, and i highly doubt we'll get a 4th. I don't know the formula for this so i could be wrong, but we've lost some high profile free agents over the years (darren howard, leroi glover, joe johnson, lecharles bentley, etc.), and i can't remember getting any compensatory picks for them. The only one i remember us getting was a 7th rounder in '06, but that was because of hurrican katrina not free agency.

the formula takes into consideration the year that they have after leaving their team.. this is why we need faine to get into the probowl..

Yes, that much i know. But like i said, we've had bigger free agents leave and got no picks the year after. Le'roi Glover went to the probowl in his first year in dallas, and i don't believe we got a pick.

the nfl compensatory pick system needs ot be revealed. we never seem ot get shite for anybody and big market teams like philly and pittsburgh always seem ot rack up.

it also takes into consideration, the FAs that we signed that year as well...
we lost faine and our best FA that we picked up would be either randall gay or bobby mccray.. the trade for shockey doesnt count b/c it was a trade and not thru Free Agency.. neither of those guys have played as well as Faine has this year so we should get some comp. Im not sure as to who was signed the same year that Glover left? joe horn maybe? i dont remember.. but if it was horn.. he was a beast his first year here so that would be why we didnt get any picks...
