Just finished watching the replay and LSU looked solid - much better than I was expecting. The guard play was a real weakness early on but it is getting much better. LSU doesn't have a go-to big but they have a lot of depth and rotate (at least last night) well. They out-rebounded the no. 1 offensive rebounding team last night on their home floor.

Honestly, I wouldn't write off Baker. He has good low post moves and (I think) high BB IQ. He does commit too many turnovers but maybe (hopefully?) that stuff cleans up as the season goes on. Reed and Ward slowly but steadily are getting better. Wright is not flashy but he is a solid player who will likely be on an NBA roster shortly. Dean is a much bigger contributor than I thought he'd be. For us old timers, he looks like a quicker Rick Mattick.

I'm not sure why Collins didn't play but I don't think I'd play him before any of the other bigs right now. I do think it is important to get him minutes for his development given how tall and athletic he is.
